William + Kate

Umm...did you SEE this dress?

Stunning.

I admit--I didn't become crazy obsessed with the Royal Wedding like so many other people. I knew that I'd see replay after replay and a bazillion pictures of the event, so I didn't feel the need to watch every second of it or even really record it (muchless take off work like some people did!).

I do think they're both beautiful though, and it really did look like a true fairy tale wedding!Yay Will and Kate!

And seriously, Kate, I.want.that.dress.

Pray for the South!

According to one of the recent reports, the recent tornadoes in the South have taken the lives of

131 people in Alabama

32 people here in Mississippi

30 people in Tennessee

13 people in Georgia

8 people in Virginia and

1 person in Kentucky.

This is the highest tornado death toll in nearly 40 years.

Unbelievable.

I'm so very happy that Meredith, Claire, and I ended up not heading to Tuscaloosa yesterday, because we probably would have been caught up in this:

Aren't those some scary images??

Please pray for all of the people affected by these horrific tornadoes, particularly in Alabama.
Things like this sure do make you appreciate your life and the lives of those you love.

all star!

Ok, Claire, I know that you give me a hard time because I am slightly obsessed with my nephews post about my nephews often, but I dare somebody to tell me that this isn't one of the cutest t-ball players you've ever seen!
Henry's first t-ball game was tonight, and I'm not sure who had more fun---Henry or me!

Go Padres!

friends, birthdays, Easter, and a surprise! (whew!)

My wonderfully long weekend kicked off on Saturday morning, when I headed to the Cotton District Arts Festival (one of my most favorite Starkville events!) with Claire and MSKS. I'm sure that you know by now that these 2 are my oldest, and 2 of my very dearest friends in life. We had a blast spending the day together!

Saturday night, my family got together to celebrate my dad and his brother's (my uncle Bobby) birthdays,

We were asked to wear pink if we were predicting a girl and blue if we were predicting a boy!
Here is a group picture of the "girl" voters:

(Rob's grandmother, Rob, Heather, my aunt Stephanie, and my dad!)

...and here are the "boy" voters:(Bobby, Jones, Trey, me, Mom, Henry, Kristen, and both of Rob's parents).

Not one single person in the family knew the gender until the cake was cut!

It's a girl!

I was wrong yet again! :)

I'm so very excited to be welcoming my very first niece in October! Yay!

my daddy!

Happy birthday to the best guy I know---my daddy!!

Oh, how I love him so (& oh how he loves "his boys" so!).

You're missing out if you don't know this man.

He's pretty great!

Two on Tuesday...

Tonight's blog agenda contains 2 completely unrelated topics.

First thing's first:

1. My new favorite beauty product. I actually read about it in this month's issue Real Simple and decided I needed to try it! I have always had undereye redness, which runs in my family (although I'm convinced I have it worse than any of my other family members!). Even though I have always had the redness, you can only imagine that it's getting worse now that I'm in my 30's! :)

I've tried several different undereye products, but they either don't work or they're way too expensive! I found this at CVS for about $12, which is very excitedly in my budget! Who would've thought that a green cream would actually do the trick. (YEP--it really is green!). Got undereye redness? Try it! ...and the best for last:

2. You may (or, well, may not) have seen my previous post about Henry becoming a big brother soon (which, of course means that I will be an aunt again!). It's no secret that I love my nephews like they're my very own, so I'm so excited about having another little one to love and spoil! Kristen is due in October, and we're hoping to find out baby Fyke's gender this weekend! Yay! Heather, Trey, and Jones will be here for Easter, so the family is getting together for the big gender announcement! And much like my friend Heather's "gender announcement party," we're asked to wear either pink or blue--according to our prediction. I've mentioned before that when it comes to predicting a baby's gender, I'm wrong approximately 80% of the time. Not even kidding. I obviously and most importantly want my sister to have a healthy baby, so the gender-guessing is all in fun. BUT---if you want to know my prediction, I think she's having another boy. Yep! I'll be wearing blue Saturday night! I've just always seen Kristen with all boys and I think Henry would have the best time with a little brother. Then again, he would be so very sweet with a little sister, too, and I would love buying clothes for a sweet baby girl! Either way, I'm excited and can't wait to find out.

What's your prediction? Do you think I'm going to be blessed with my 3rd nephew or my 1st niece? Stay tuned to find out! :)

a birthday, a tornado, and school on a SATURDAY!

Whew!

What.a.week.

After several consecutive days of craziness, I'm glad to be relaxing a little on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. I went to my "foot doctor" on Thursday, and am so excited that I have to no longer wear my walking boot AND after over 2 months of being unable to exercise, I've been given the "OK" to start working out again! He told me to wait at least another month before I try to run, but I'm just so excited to be able to get outside and walk! Max and I did just that a little earlier, and we both loved it!

I'm also thinking about sweet Jones, because he's ONE today! Happy birthday to my favorite little guy.

----------------------------------------------------------

Now, in case you're not from around here or haven't paid attention to weather reports lately, my great state was hit by a tornado on Friday. Thankfully, it never got extremely bad here, but nevertheless, most of my day was spent in the hallway with my 24 2nd graders. We were prepared for it. There was a horrible storm and very strong winds, and because of the threat of tornadoes in our area, all students and teachers were at school until nearly 5:30. I was beyond exhausted that night, and I slept like a baby knowing that all of my little ones were home safely.

While Starkville was "in the clear" for the most part, Kristen and Rob's former town, Clinton (located about 140 miles SW from here), was a different story. Their old neighborhood in Clinton was demolished. As far as I know there were no fatalities, but so many homes were destroyed. In fact, Kristen's dear friend Meghan (who lived just down the street from Kristen) lost her home in the tornado. Neither she, nor her precious little boy were home during the time thank goodness. Still, can you imagine if this is what your house looked like when you got home from work?

Please add Meghan and her son Colton to your prayer list as they encounter many difficult days in the upcoming weeks.

Now, you're probably what I mean when I say "School on a Saturday." Well, people, I meant just that. Due to the fact that we missed 4 days of school due to the snow a few months ago, we were required to make up one of those days yesterday. Yes-on a Saturday! Did I enjoy going to school on a Saturday? Not so much NO. Do I hope we get to do it again soon? Negative. However, when I thought about what many people were experiencing in Clinton yesterday, I suddenly found myself without a real reason to complain... Enjoy your day, thank God for the roof over your head, and count your blessings!

Happy Birthday to my dear Shannon!I kinda don't think I would know what to do without this friend! We've been best of friends since elementary school and we have done so SO many things and been to so SO many places together. She understands me so well and she has always finds a way to make me smile. God bless this friend!

Today, I'm grateful for this friend and I thank God that she was born 29 years ago!!

I'm thinking I need to make a trip to Nashville to see this girl very, very soon...

Who's going home on American Idol this week? I'm so torn. Give me your opinion, but HURRY, the results will be announced in less than 24 hours! Opinions? I think I love them all this season!

SB weekend!

It was a fantastic weekend for some time with fellow bulldog fans at Super Bulldog Weekend! I was so glad Candy, Chad, and their boys could come and stay with me.

We spent most of our weekend here:

...and I was so SO happy to see my college friend/roommate Kate! I haven't seen her since her wedding last summer, so it made me smile to see her face (and see her little pregnant belly!) :) I say it all of the time, but it's so so very fun to be a bulldog!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to prepare for my normal 6 DAY WORK WEEK! That's right folks--I'll be at school on Saturday to make up for one of the snow days!

Prayers are greatly appreciated for me and my colleagues! :)

Doesn't get much better than this.

Yep. It's my 2nd post of the night, but I couldn't help it. If you missed the ACM's, you're just gonna need to see this. It's pretty amazing.

WHAT????

As an American Idol fan for like 8 years now, I must say, tonight was probably the biggest shock yet!!

Pia? Sent HOME? REALLY???

I'm not over it.And Stefano is still in this competition?

This is just not ok to me.

Thoughts?

weekend plans???

No? Then there's really only one place you should be! (...and even if you do have plans, you should probably just cancel them and come here instead!).

celebrating his first!

Sweet Jones will turn 1 on April 17th of this month but his party was yesterday in Gulfport. I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

The weather was perfect, there were so many of Jones' friends there, and Heather did a fantastic job with party planning and decorating!

Here are a few of the pics from the fun weekend...

(This is a pic of my parents and great aunt and uncle. My great uncle is Nana's brother. They live on the coast and we were so glad they got to come to the party!) Happy Monday, friends! Enjoy this beautiful spring weather, and I hope all of you loyal State fans will be at Super Bulldog Weekend this coming weeked! Fun times ahead indeed!
