P.R.A.Y

Please take a few minutes and pray for this young family.
They need strength right now.

flashback fun...

Don't you love it when you accidentally come across old pictures? I found this one recently and just laughed.

I'm sure you can tell who's who here... we have Kristen in the pink, who probably spent her time telling us what to do; me being not-so-flexible in the blue; my pretty mom, who's probably hating every second of the "exercise"; and Heather who spent her time just climbing on top of us.

Oh...the memories...

Now that's what I call TACKY!

So...as you can probably tell from the pics, I went to a "Tacky Christmas Party!" It was in Jackson Friday night (just in time for SNOW!), and it was so very fun.
Enjoy the pics, but first, there are a couple of things I'd like to point out:
1. My lapel pin. Yes...it is a plastic Santa pin, and yes, it waves.
2. The bow in my hair. That's all I can say about that.
3. The vest AND it's features (sequined rocking horse, Christmas tree, etc).
4. The lovely outfits worn by everyone else (minus Melanie, who actually was dressed CUTE!). I was particuarly fond of the sweaters chosen by some.
YAY FOR SNOW!!!.....even bully liked it...

All Aboard!

Henry and his best buddy Colton had a "Train" birthday party yesterday morning. Explanation of the party is unnecessary, as the following pictures say it all! (Yes...I realize there are a lot of pictures here...just be glad I didn't post all 118 of them!).
Happy 3rd birthday Henry and Colton!

Friday night I went to a "Tacky Christmas Party" in Jackson with some friends...pictures to come soon!

something a little different...

For Christmas this year, my parents told us that instead of giving them gifts, they wanted us to use that money to do something for someone else. Great idea huh?
Little did I know how hard it would be for me to actually decide what to do! Did I want to help someone I know? A sick child? A cancer patient? A less fortunate student? A less fortunate person in another country? The possibilities are endless. Of course I would love to be able to do something for multiple people, but I'm obviously financially unable to do so.
So...I've been praying about the right thing to do, and reasearching online, hoping that something would "jump out" to me. Finally something did. While doing a little "blog reading" recently I came across a story that nearly brought me to tears. Please click here and read this story before continuing my blog post...
Crying yet? Of course I directed you to a specific post, which just tells "their story." If you continue reading the blog, you'll see that they are in the process of adopting a precious child from Korea and they're in need of prayers AND financial assistance. Once I read even just a little of the story I was touched...so moved in a way that I felt like I was a close friend of theirs! Weird sounding I know, but it's true. I knew immediately that this was the family I wanted to help. I'm guessing that I was mostly touched because I've watched 3 of my good friends go through heartbreaking miscarriages in just the past year or so. I don't understand what that's like, but it hurt me to witness what it did to their hearts. I also have a very good friend who was unable to have children of her own, and she and her husband went through the adoption process and now have a beautiful little boy. Seeing that little boy and the love they have for him is just amazing. I think adoption is one of the greatest things in life.
So, while my monetary donation isn't much, I still like know that in some way, I'm helping this little girl get to her new family here in America. If you're looking for a great way to help someone this year (prayerfully or monetarily), I suggest you consider this family.
I grabbed the "Help Lily Get Home" button and put it on my sidebar, so click there if you need the link!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy birthday KATEY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR KATEY!Today is my dear friend Katey's birthday! Here is a picture of me and Katey and her youngest son, precious Paxton.
If you don't know Katey, you are missing out. She's pretty fantastic. And just to let everyone know how great I think she is, I've compiled a list of 10 reasons why Katey is one of my favorite friends ever. Here they are (in no particular order):
1. She's supermom. She may not agree, but I'm on the outside looking in and I'm here to tell you...she's the BEST. Her 2 adorable boys love her and the example she sets for them puts a smile on God's face. I hope to one day be half the mom she is.
2. She makes time for me. Even though having 2 young boys keeps her busy, she's always there when I need her, and she makes time for our "girl nights" as often as she can! Talking to her always makes me feel better.
3. She's cute. Everyone wants cute friends, right? :)
4. She has such a strong faith. Her faith in God is evident in her everyday life.
5. She understands my love of Jennifer Nettles and loves country music as much as I do.
6. She watches American Idol with me.
7. She puts others above herself. Always.
8. She loves ice cream and misses TCBY almost as much as I do. We had good times there. May it RIP.
9. Even though we've only been good friends for a few years, I feel like I've known her all my life.
10. SHE'S THE BEST! That pretty much sums it all up.
I'm so thankful that God placed her in my life and I'm fortunate to live in the same town as her and her sweet family.

I LOVE YOU KATEY! :)

CLASSIC

I saw this on Fox and Friends this morning and decided immediately that I want to be best friends with this guy.

It doesn't get any better than this. (Well, I guess it could get better if I was actually getting married. Just kidding. Kinda.)

TGIF! =)

Charlie Robertson is here!

I'm excited to announce that my bff Candy and her husband welcomed their 2nd child,
Charlie Lawson Robertson
into the world on Monday, November 30!
Congratulations to Chad, Candy, and big brother Landon! I can't wait to get my hands on this little guy! I love him already! :)

another NEPHEW! :)

I was in the process of mentally preparing to welcome a niece into the world, but I found out today that I will be having another NEPHEW! :) Heather's original due date was at the end of April, but has been moved back to sometime at the beginning of May. Therefore, a few weeks ago when they thought they would be able to tell if it was a boy or girl, they were told that it was most likely a girl because they "couldn't see anything!" Well, the little guy's manhood wasn't seen because it was just way too early apparently.
Even though I've told every single person I know that I'm having a niece, I'm now thrilled to say that it is 100% BOY and I will be having another nephew! Yay for boys! Head on over and congratulate the little sis and my brother-in-law for the big news!

only 1 week left!

Next Wednesday I will be drawing a name for my blog giveaway! Haven't entered yet? It's not too late! Click here and don't forget--your name can be entered up to 3 times! All you have to do is:

1. Leave a comment on that post.

2. Sign my guest book at the top of my blog.

3. Give me a shoutout on YOUR blog!

Happy Wednesday!

He's 3!

Happy 3rd birthday to the main man in my life, my sweet nephew Henry. People tell me that when I have kids of my own, I'll love them as much as I love this little guy, but I just can't imagine that...
