she's 30!

This is the "school year" when most of my friends will hit the big 3-0! Mine doesn't fall until March, so I'm looking forward to celebrating this milestone with most of my friends before I have to endure it myself! :)

Anyway-today is my dear Candy's 30th! She's 30 on the 30th--that should mean something good, right??

I was so happy to spend most my tailgating time with her last weekend. I love my Candy!

Happy birthday dear Candy!

oh, I SO don't get this.

Ok. So, thankfully, I got last night's blog issue resolved (thank you!), but I'm still feeling like a blog dummy. If you look at the top left of my blog, you'll see that I have 2 profiles now! I created a new email address, and I THOUGHT that meant I had to create a new blog profile. I guess I was wrong (??). If possible, I'd like to keep my OLD profile, but with my NEW email address. Does anybody know how I might go about doing that? I'm confused.
And I used to think I was good at this kind of stuff.

a few things...

Happy Tuesday, all! Is anybody else loving this weather? I've so enjoyed jogging in 75 degree weather as opposed to 100 degree weather. It's so nice to actually be able to breathe outside again, isn't it? My fingers are crossed that this weather is here to stay for a while!
I'm going to be brief and random tonight. There are several things on my mind that I want to share, but I'm also tired, so forgive me if I don't elaborate on each item.:
1. Have I told you how much I love the weather? Because I do.
2. I've changed my email address. Who knew that doing such would cause so much craziness? Changing my address meant: NOT ONLY, that I had to notify friends about the change, but I've also changed my blog email address, which means that I had to create a new profile and it no longer shows that I'm following the same blogs (OK-wow-that was a BAD run on sentence. I'm a teacher and I'm aware of this. I'm just too tired to correct it at this time.) I've had the same email address for probably 10 years and I was getting fed up with the junk I was receiving. I ditched hotmail and headed on over to gmail. My email address is now LTmsstate@gmail.com (make note. I mean- if you want to). Now...does anybody know what I need to get my blog comments emailed to my NEW address instead of the old one? I tried to figure it out earlier and it started to make me crazy.
3. I love Dr. Phil. I've shamelessly mentioned this before. Anybody else with me here? If not, allow me to suggest that you start watching The Real Housewives of Dr. Phil every Tuesday. It's like watching a reality show--but with Dr. Phil sitting there giving his genius advice. I can't really explain it. Just watch it. I love him (and I have a crush on his musician son). I think the world would be a better place if Dr. Phil could be everyone's therapist.
4. Trey, Heather, and Jones are coming this weekend. I just can't wait!
5. I've been keeping up with and praying for this little girl, and want to ask you to do the same.
6.OH...and you don't think miracles can happen? Well, THIS amazing woman is living proof that God DOES exist and miracles DO happen!
Praise God!
Now....it's my bedtime.
Is it sad that my favorite time of the day is the second my head hits the pillow?

another win, a visit with Candy, and fall weather(??)

If you know me well, you're probably aware of the following:

1. Nothing makes me happier than a bulldog win!

2. This is one of my favorite places in the world:

3. I have fabulous friends! I was so glad to see Candy this weekend and spend time with her at the game. Oh how I miss her so.
4. I love fall! Until today, I thought it was going to stay 100 degrees until December! What a beautiful day it was today (and supposed to be pretty most of the week! Yay!). Jogging in 70 degree weather is so much nicer than jogging in 170 degree weather!
Here's to football, friends, and fall!

tough times.

I'm sad tonight. Going through an obstacle in my life, and I would love, more than anything, for you to keep me in your prayers.
Thank you.

"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes."

He's only a little confused.

Apparently Max thought we were playing Ole Miss today. Even when I explained to him that we were playing LSU, he still insisted on wearing his "favorite" shirt.
He's still hoping Ole Miss loses today.
What a smart boy he is.

what's changed YOUR life?

I love People magazine. I also really enjoy special issues created by the lovely writers of People (ex. People "Style", yearbooks, etc.). While standing in a mile-long line at the grocery store the other day (isn't that how you love spending your day?), I picked up the recent edition:It was at least $10 to purchase, and, well, I'm just a poor teacher, so I opted against buying it. BUT I flipped through it long enough enough to see a few of the shows that were included.
Not surprisingly, Jerry Seinfeld's picture is at the very top. If you know me well, you know that "Seinfeld" gets my #1 vote of life-changing television shows!
A few others included:
Happy Days, Golden Girls, The Brady Bunch, Cheers, Andy Griffith, Friends, Dallas, Star Trek, Buffy, All In the Family, The Cosby Show, M*A*S*H, Mary Tyler Moore, Sex and the City, Melrose Place, GLEE, American Idol, etc. etc. etc.
Some of the said shows were well before my time, so I can't say I know much about TV shows before the mid 80's, but if I were to create my life-changing shows, (ok, ok, "life-changing" may sound a little bold. Can I just safely say my "favorite" shows of all time??) would include:
Seinfeld
The Office
Desperate Housewives (which I'm SURE makes my mom so proud!)
American Idol
And while I may not have watched much Golden Girls during its day, I must admit that nothing beats watching reruns now, so I'm going to have to include GG on my list, too.
So, I ask you. What television shows have changed YOUR life?
Yeah. So, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to go back and get this magazine now....

God Bless America.

Although I'm enjoying a lazy Saturday mostly spent watching college football today, I can't help but think about what happened 9 years ago. I was a junior at MSU and living in the KD house. I remember waking up that morning and finding out about the attacks immediately after walking out of my room.

I'll never forget that day.Where were you on this day 9 years ago?

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “ -George W. Bush

a winning weekend!!!

Want to know why this was what I would call a winning weekend (I love using alliteration)?
Well...I've conveniently created a bulleted list to answer just that:
  • MSU won their season opener vs. Memphis!
  • And not only THAT, but Heather, Trey, and Jones got to be here for the win (and I ran into a couple of pretty great friends!)...

  • OH! And almost as equally thrilling as us winning our season opener, Ole Miss lost theirs. :)
  • Trey celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday (don't worry, buddy, I'm right behind you!)! What a fantastic b-i-l he is! And I wish you could see him with that sweet baby. He's such a natural daddy! HAPPY 30th TREY!
  • And FINALLY, today was Labor Day, which meant no work for me!

I enjoyed my day of relaxation. I think I'm ready to conquer this 4 day week and looking forward to MSU vs. Auburn on Thursday night. I'll be there with my cowbell in hand!

Have a fantastically wonderful (and hopefully 4 day!) week!

Wordless Wednesday

I love him.
(sorry...I forgot it was suppposed to be wordless...)
