so....

I know I'm a crazy aunt.
I talk about my niece and nephews like they're my own.  I know, I know.
I just can't help it really.
Since my sisters are my 2 favorite people, it's hard not to be obsessed with their precious children.

I just had to post this one tonight.
Henry with his sweet baby sister.
You just can't tell me that's not the sweetest.

Now...considering that the past several posts have been about nothing other than those 2 cute little boys and that sweet baby girl, I promise will try to come up with a different topic for my next post.

On a completely different topic, it's season premiere week in TV!
What shows are you most excited about this season?

Doesn't get much better than this.

Yep. It's my 2nd post of the night, but I couldn't help it. If you missed the ACM's, you're just gonna need to see this. It's pretty amazing.

WHAT????

As an American Idol fan for like 8 years now, I must say, tonight was probably the biggest shock yet!!

Pia? Sent HOME? REALLY???

I'm not over it.And Stefano is still in this competition?

This is just not ok to me.

Thoughts?

American Idol top 24...

It's season 10, and I'm still hooked on this show! I miss Simon like crazy, but I'm surprisingly loving J.Lo, and Steven Tyler adds the little neurotic pop that Paula Abdul took with her. The important people who are in charge of judge choices have really never let me down. Keep up the good work, judge pickers.
Now...on to the top 24...
I probably say this every year, but I really think this year has the best contestants. I'm having a tough time choosing my favorites, and there really haven't been any that I think need to go home any time soon. It's gonna be a tough call this year, America!I'm sure my favorites will change from week to week, but after the top 24 performed this week, my favorites are:
Paul McDonald: First of all, he's fantastic to look at; Secondly, he has an amazing voice. Also, he's fantastic to look at. Did I mention that already? Also, he looks like Bradley Cooper. Don't you think?

Scotty McCreery: Good ol' country boy! I love him and his deep little 17 year old voice!
Lauren Turner- I can't really pinpoint what I love about her. Maybe it's the dark curly hair. Maybe it's her initials. Oh, and she has a great voice too.
Karen Rodriguez-She added a little Espanol to her song tonight and she did it fabulously. I liked her a lot tonight!
Lauren Alaina- She's been one of my favorites since her audition. She's only 16 and Randy told her tonight that she was a good mix of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Can you imagine being 16 and receiving a compliment like that? She'll probably be in the top 5.

Pia Toscano- She was amazing tonight. After her performance, she received a standing ovation---and rightfully so! Again, she'll probably be in the top 5 or at least the top 10.

What are your thoughts?

a few things...

Happy Tuesday, all! Is anybody else loving this weather? I've so enjoyed jogging in 75 degree weather as opposed to 100 degree weather. It's so nice to actually be able to breathe outside again, isn't it? My fingers are crossed that this weather is here to stay for a while!
I'm going to be brief and random tonight. There are several things on my mind that I want to share, but I'm also tired, so forgive me if I don't elaborate on each item.:
1. Have I told you how much I love the weather? Because I do.
2. I've changed my email address. Who knew that doing such would cause so much craziness? Changing my address meant: NOT ONLY, that I had to notify friends about the change, but I've also changed my blog email address, which means that I had to create a new profile and it no longer shows that I'm following the same blogs (OK-wow-that was a BAD run on sentence. I'm a teacher and I'm aware of this. I'm just too tired to correct it at this time.) I've had the same email address for probably 10 years and I was getting fed up with the junk I was receiving. I ditched hotmail and headed on over to gmail. My email address is now LTmsstate@gmail.com (make note. I mean- if you want to). Now...does anybody know what I need to get my blog comments emailed to my NEW address instead of the old one? I tried to figure it out earlier and it started to make me crazy.
3. I love Dr. Phil. I've shamelessly mentioned this before. Anybody else with me here? If not, allow me to suggest that you start watching The Real Housewives of Dr. Phil every Tuesday. It's like watching a reality show--but with Dr. Phil sitting there giving his genius advice. I can't really explain it. Just watch it. I love him (and I have a crush on his musician son). I think the world would be a better place if Dr. Phil could be everyone's therapist.
4. Trey, Heather, and Jones are coming this weekend. I just can't wait!
5. I've been keeping up with and praying for this little girl, and want to ask you to do the same.
6.OH...and you don't think miracles can happen? Well, THIS amazing woman is living proof that God DOES exist and miracles DO happen!
Praise God!
Now....it's my bedtime.
Is it sad that my favorite time of the day is the second my head hits the pillow?

what's changed YOUR life?

I love People magazine. I also really enjoy special issues created by the lovely writers of People (ex. People "Style", yearbooks, etc.). While standing in a mile-long line at the grocery store the other day (isn't that how you love spending your day?), I picked up the recent edition:It was at least $10 to purchase, and, well, I'm just a poor teacher, so I opted against buying it. BUT I flipped through it long enough enough to see a few of the shows that were included.
Not surprisingly, Jerry Seinfeld's picture is at the very top. If you know me well, you know that "Seinfeld" gets my #1 vote of life-changing television shows!
A few others included:
Happy Days, Golden Girls, The Brady Bunch, Cheers, Andy Griffith, Friends, Dallas, Star Trek, Buffy, All In the Family, The Cosby Show, M*A*S*H, Mary Tyler Moore, Sex and the City, Melrose Place, GLEE, American Idol, etc. etc. etc.
Some of the said shows were well before my time, so I can't say I know much about TV shows before the mid 80's, but if I were to create my life-changing shows, (ok, ok, "life-changing" may sound a little bold. Can I just safely say my "favorite" shows of all time??) would include:
Seinfeld
The Office
Desperate Housewives (which I'm SURE makes my mom so proud!)
American Idol
And while I may not have watched much Golden Girls during its day, I must admit that nothing beats watching reruns now, so I'm going to have to include GG on my list, too.
So, I ask you. What television shows have changed YOUR life?
Yeah. So, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to go back and get this magazine now....

say it ain't so!

I'm not happy about your decision, Steve, and I'm not promising I'll be able to continue watching after the upcoming season.
Sad.

serious pressure and an important philosophy...

So...after feeling slightly pressured from MSKS, I've joined the tweetering tweeting twitting (WHATEVER!) world! I basically have no idea how to really use it, but I've decided that it's somehow going to connect me with Lee Dewyze, and then eventually I will be able to thank MSKS for introducing me to the love of my life. Until then, though, let me know if you have an account and I'll add you to those I'm following! Oh, and add me too---LLTomlinson.
Yay. This is going to be fun. I guess.
On another topic, a friend emailed this clip to me earlier, and I found it to be a wonderful philosophy by which to live. Watch it and really soak in the content.

Seriously, I've seen that particular episode numerous times, but can't help but laugh EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

I love Michael Scott.

MY wedding.

Don't get too excited...I'm NOT getting married unfortunately.
I do, however, feel as though I should have been a part of Jim and Pam's wedding the other night. It kinda hurts my feelings that they're not a "real" couple. Anyway, I loved the episode. I thought it was perfect. I especially enjoyed the wedding dance, which included the the wedding attendants and guests.
I'm guessing it was somewhat inspired by this dance, which really DID happen!

I've mentioned before that I'm not a dancer, though I wish I were. I became a fan of "Rock the Reception," which came on TLC (I say "came" because I don't think it even still comes on anymore! Sad.). I blogged about this once before. Anyway, I'm pretty much obsessed with this video now and I want to do it at my wedding. I'm not sure how my bridesmaids will react to the news of being forced to dance at my wedding NOR am I quite sure how FBC Starkville will feel about this (HA!). Still, I think it would be so much fun, don't you agree?

I'll let you know when I find the guy!

I'm alive. I promise.

Sorry for the blogging delay. I'm still here, and I promise I won't neglect the 'ol blog much longer! It took me the entire week last week to really get my feet under me after going back to work. I had no energy to do ANYTHING last week! I slept entirely too much this past weekend, but apparently it was what I needed! I can already tell that this week is going to be better! School is crazy and my life is once again super busy, but I can't really complain. I've got a great group of kids this year. I really really do. Plus, I got a teacher intern today who I'm really excited about. Stay tuned. I promise I'll be back to my regular blogging.

Oh, just one more thing...is anybody else ready for a new season of TV????

J and K, and prayer journaling...

I'm pretty sure I won't be the only person blogging about Jon and Kate tonight. I just finished watching it, and I must say, I'm a little mad at Jon and a little sad for Kate. Did you see it? Does anybody else think Jon is a jerk? He pretty much sealed the deal for me when he said, "I'm only 32 and I'm excited about starting a new chapter in my life." WHAT? I just felt so sorry for Kate. I'm willing to bet that in a few years, he's going to realize how badly he's screwed up. Ugh. He just makes me so mad.

On a subject change, I wanted to share something that I'm starting (or I guess I should stay "restarting"). I believe in the power of prayer, and I always want to make sure I'm praying for those who may really need it for whatever reason, especially when I specifically tell someone that I'm praying for them. I don't know why it seems like I've been surrounded around lots of people who are experiencing difficult times. I know a couple of people who's husbands or sons have just been deployed, others who have recently lost loved ones, some who are going through difficult times in their personal lives, etc. Everybody's issues are different, and I think whenever somebody is hurting, they need to be prayed for.
SO...I'm opening up a journal I got recently, and I'm going to start prayer journaling (the poor Gosselins will be at the top of my list!). I'llwrite down all prayer requests that I can think of, and I want to invite YOU to share with me! If you're an open person (which I very much consider myself), feel free to share your prayer request by commenting on this post. It will allow others to pray for you too! Otherwise, feel free to email me at lltomlinson@hotmail.com with your prayer request. Please write "prayer request" in the subject line, so I won't accidentally overlook it!
Rest assured that if you share a request with me, it will be written in my journal and you will be prayed for! And guess what? PRAYER WORKS!

Adam vs. Kris and the Jon Gosselin scandal...

Well, I personally think it's going to be a tough call tomorrow night. In my opinion, both performers did well tonight, each having their own "shining moment." I think Adam is favored to win, but I definitely don't think Kris should be ruled out! I truly like them equally, but I tend to pull for underdogs, so I'm crossing my fingers for Kris (plus, my friend Heather is a die hard Adam fan, and I think a little rivalry between us will be fun!). Something else to think about-- There were a lot of Danny Gokey fans out there, so who's going to get the majority of THOSE votes? I think Kris will, but that's just me.Thoughts?
2nd topic of the night: JON GOSSELIN. Now, I've heard the rumors that have been going around about him having an affair, but I tried not to think anything of it in hopes that they WERE just rumors! I mean, I LOVE JON AND KATE PLUS 8! You'll watch an episode or 2 and be totally convinced that, even though their lives are completely chaotic with 8 children, they were very much in love with each other and happily married! My heart hurt today when I saw Kate on the cover of People magazine. It's one thing to see their picture on the cover of The National Enquirer, but when it's seen in People, I tend to believe it. I read the article in which Kate was interviewed, and it made me so sad. She seemed very hurt about it all, and says their marriage is really struggling. While Jon denies having an affair, she still says that regardless, things aren't so great. It makes me so sad! I guess it just goes to show you that even though some families seem picture-perfect, they may be, in fact, very far from it.
I'm anxious to see what's going to happen with the Gosselins!

Mr. Belding

Well. I did it. I met Mr. B. The pictures (and sweet video) basically speak for themselves. I'm also quite positive the Em will do a complete recap of the night, so you need to be sure to check out her blog. For those of you unfortunate souls who have never had the opportunity to meet Mr. B, let me tell you that you're truly missing out. What a comedy act he is indeed. My only complaint: He didn't do karaoke.

Oh, here's Em...she went on stage for some SBTB trivia and OF COURSE she knocked everyone's socks off. Duh. Here she is after receiving her free autographed copy of the cast. Those competitors didn't know who they were dealing with.

...look at the excitement on her face. And of course...how could I resist my very own autographed copy? I will keep this in a very safe lock box to ensure that nothing ever happens to it.
Here's to my last day of school before a nice looong weekend! Happy Thursday!

HELP!

Help solve the never-ending argument between me and a friend ONCE AND FOR ALL! Vote which TV show you think is better: "Seinfeld" or "Friends." To me, it's a no brainer, but apparently there ARE some people out there who disagree! :)

I want your input (but PLEASE vote wisely!) :)
