7-0!

My bulldogs are 7-0! It's been a fun season thus far. We've got several tough games ahead, including Alabama this coming weekend. Yikes!!

Pumpkin Palooza, a baby shower, and 6-0!

I love football season. I do. But I somehow forget how exhausting it is! I've just realized that during football season, my weekends are not spent relaxing, but rather cheering on my bulldogs (and attending games that don't kick off until 8 PM!). I wouldn't have it any other way.
Friday night was Pumpkin Palooza in downtown Starkville. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are able to fit in the small town of Starkville whenever there's a big event. I love it.
Saturday was the MSU vs UT game, and before the game, I was able to co-host a baby shower for sweet Alexa, who's expecting a baby boy at the end of November! Such a fun time.
So excited about my dawgs being 6-0, and I'm hoping we'll make it 7-0 this weekend. (And then the following weekend we play Alabama, and well... uh...that could get interesting).
Hoping you had as much fun as I did this weekend, but perhaps a little more sleep than me?!

Hi. It's me.

Anybody there??
What do you blog about after it's been MONTHS? I have no idea.
A lot has happened during my blog hiatus, but I won't bore you with every detail of every event that has occurred (as I'm usually known to do on the 'ol blog).
I'm a very long-winded person, so there are a million things I want to "say" as I'm returning to the blog, but again- I'll refrain from boring you.
Instead, I think I'm going to just post some pictures- they say more than words anyway, right?
So here you go. A snippet of my life during the past few months. Hopefully after this initial returning-to-the-blog post, it'll be easier for me to get back to the day to day blogging. I hope I'm right!

Flirty 30...

A few weekends ago, I got to spend some time with Shannon and a few of her friends in Atlanta for her 30th!
Such fun.

Yes!  I ordered custom made wine labels for the celebration!  SO cute.  (Click here to get yours!)

I love my 30s and happy to help my friends celebrate when they join me in this glorious decade of our lives!:)

surgery, friends, and GIVING.

First off, I had surgery last Friday, and for those of you who were aware and said prayers, thank you!  It wasn't anything serious, but I do appreciate the cards, calls, texts, etc.  I felt very loved and taken care of!  I had to take medical leave from school, so I missed the last 4 days with my kiddos.  It's now officially Christmas break so I won't be seeing them until January 9 (YAY FOR CHRISTMAS BREAK!), but I know I'm gonna miss their little faces.

My surgery went well, and recovery has been so much easier than I anticipated.  The first couple of days were tough, but truly nothing like I expected. I'm thankful that it's over, that my recovery is going smoothly,  and that I can now enjoy the holidays!

You all know about my dear friends Meredith and Claire.  It's been a year since the last time the 3 of us were together so I've been counting down the days to when we could be together again.  It's just never often enough. They were both in town for Christmas, and the only night we were all able to get together was Tuesday (only 4 days after my surgery), so I honestly didn't think I'd even feel like doing much at all.  Fortunately, I felt just well enough to have Mexican with these two!  Maybe I pushed myself a little too soon, but it was totally worth it.  And I haven't done much except relax since then (just in case you care...).

ANYWAY---
Here we are--you know--just being all cute and stuff.... ;)

Since Meredith lives in Texas, I don't get to see this sweet little face much either.

Sweet Madeleine!  Still sometimes hard for me to believe that Mere has a child!:)  She's just beautiful.
 Now...I leave you with this.
If you're anything like me, you get tired of all of the depressing news you see on TV and read about online and in the newspaper--especially this time of the year!
How refreshing it was to read this article about someone's selfless act of giving this Christmas.
Read it and be encouraged.

I sure was.

'Tis the season for giving.

Merry Christmas!  That is, if you don't hear from me before.
xoxo

The Egg and a 3-Peat!

Despite the nasty, rainy weather last Saturday, Candy, Chad and I threw on our ponchos and sat in the stadium for the entire Egg Bowl.
Was it worth it?....
ABSOLUTELY.

The Egg stays in Starkville for another year, and in my opinion, the world is as it should be once again.  This win also made us bowl eligible.  YIPPEE!
We're SOAKING.WET. but having a blast!

Now...who's ready to start the countdown for Egg Bowl 2012?
