I love People magazine. I also really enjoy special issues created by the lovely writers of People (ex. People "Style", yearbooks, etc.). While standing in a mile-long line at the grocery store the other day (isn't that how you love spending
your day?), I picked up the recent edition:
It was at least $10 to purchase, and, well, I'm just a poor teacher, so I opted against buying it. BUT I flipped through it long enough enough to see a few of the shows that were included.
Not surprisingly, Jerry Seinfeld's picture is at the very top. If you know me well, you know that "Seinfeld" gets my #1 vote of life-changing television shows!
A few others included:
Happy Days, Golden Girls, The Brady Bunch, Cheers, Andy Griffith, Friends, Dallas, Star Trek, Buffy, All In the Family, The Cosby Show, M*A*S*H, Mary Tyler Moore, Sex and the City, Melrose Place, GLEE, American Idol, etc. etc. etc.
Some of the said shows were well before my time, so I can't say I know much about TV shows before the mid 80's, but if I were to create my life-changing shows, (ok, ok, "life-changing" may sound a little bold. Can I just safely say my "favorite" shows of all time??) would include:
Seinfeld
The Office
Desperate Housewives (which I'm SURE makes my mom so proud!)
American Idol
And while I may not have watched much Golden Girls during its day, I must admit that nothing beats watching reruns now, so I'm going to have to include GG on my list, too.
So, I ask you. What television shows have changed YOUR life?
Yeah. So, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to go back and get this magazine now....
