Since the last time I blogged....

I've helped my Mamaw celebrate her 90th birthday...

....celebrated MY 31st birthday...



...helped Jones celebrate his 2nd birthday...



...spent a good bit of time at Dudy Noble field for a little MSU baseball...

...met the newest addition to the Overstreet family!  Congrats Kane, Katey, Camp, and Paxton!...

...and celebrated Easter with my wonderful family!

  Things are crazy busy, but that's still no excuse for neglecting the blog!  I'm going to get better again.

friends, birthdays, Easter, and a surprise! (whew!)

My wonderfully long weekend kicked off on Saturday morning, when I headed to the Cotton District Arts Festival (one of my most favorite Starkville events!) with Claire and MSKS. I'm sure that you know by now that these 2 are my oldest, and 2 of my very dearest friends in life. We had a blast spending the day together!

Saturday night, my family got together to celebrate my dad and his brother's (my uncle Bobby) birthdays,

Easter, ,AND to find out baby Fyke's gender!

We were asked to wear pink if we were predicting a girl and blue if we were predicting a boy!

Happy Easter, friends! I hope your day was spent with those you love!

Mom, Dad, and I spent the weekend with R, K, and H in Clinton. We missed Heather and Trey, but since Heather is going to be giving birth soon (yay!!!), it probably isn't a good idea for her to travel much these days.

Here are some pictures (mostly Henry, of course) from the weekend! He LOVED dying Easter eggs. When he finished dying and decorating them, he said "Can I eat one of the 'dead' eggs?" Hahaha.

much ado about nothing...

So, I've been chastised for my lack of blogging this week...again. I don't know what's gotten into me. I'm not tired of blogging and it's not that I don't have time to blog, but I guess I just feel like I've had a lack of material lately. I don't know.

I'm probably going to jump around with topics in this post, so just bear with me here, please. Thanks.

First and foremost. I suppose it's been a while since I blogged about AI, so I'm going to throw in my 2 cents on my favorite contestants. There are only 9 contestants left, and while I'm 99.9% confident that Crystal will win (LOVE HER)... ...there are 3 others that I really, REALLY like:

And....moving on....

I've been asked to share a little more about my p90x experience thus far. Well, I've completed week 5, and while some of the workouts are still rough, they ARE getting easier and for the most part, I really am enjoying it. Here are some of my favorite things about it:

1. I can work out at home, which means I'm saving money on a gym membership and I can wear what I want to wear.

2. I like have a schedule to go by and I like having somebody tell me exactly what to do. While I want to hit Tony in the face most of the time, he's really pretty good about explaining how to do every exercise properly. I also like how much he makes you stretch before and after each workout. I've never been the best at stretching.

3. Kempo! Who knew punching and kicking could be so much fun? It's my favorite.

What do I NOT like about p9ox?

1. Yoga. I cried the first time.

2. Push ups. I would rather poke my eyes out with a fork.

If you're thinking about jumping on the p90x train, DO IT. I was hesitant about continuing it after I completed the first week, but I'm glad I did. I don't know that my lbs are decreasing, but I definitely have more energy and I feel better about myself.

I was off school today and will be out again on Monday (yay!), so I'm looking forward a long, relaxing weekend. I'm in Clinton until Sunday, so I'm sure I'll have some Easter pics to post in a few days.

Easter weekend and a NEW COMPUTER!

I spent Easter Sunday in Clinton with my family. I hope your Easter was as wonderful and relaxing as mine!


I also bought a new computer today! After several weeks of shopping around (and nagging others about what I should buy!), I did it. I went to Best Buy by myself and I'm proud of myself for making a decision about what to get, although I have to admit, it was quite overwhelming! Despite the fact that about 75% of you recommended that I get a MAC, it just wasn't the most practical laptop for me to buy. The MAC is a good bit more than I was able to spend, so I decided to go with something else. Sweet Sam Hardin (who, I might add, is a NEW DADDY!), did some researching for me after I told him what I'd need a computer for and what I was willing to pay for it. He sent me the link to several computers and I actually purchased one of HIS recommendations. Thanks, Sam!

So, hopefully my blogging will start to pick up again! Get excited! :)

"I love my family (AND FRIENDS). I really do." part 2...

So, I'm thinking 28 may be a pretty good year for me. I've only been 28 for a day, but I must say, it was one of the best birthdays I've had to date. First of all, my students were so sweet. I think they were more excited about it being my birthday than I was! At school, I was given not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 cakes from a couple of parents and fellow teacher friends. Of course I had to "taste" them all, and wow!... I definitely got my sweet fix, and should easily make it until Easter when Lent is over! My students (including 4 of my students' wonderful moms!) also threw me a surprise party at the end of the day. Here I am blowing out the candles on THAT cake! I also received some beautiful tulips from my dear friend Meredith. Isn't she thoughtful? After school, I went home to find this: Balloons on my mailbox, a new adorable Easter wreath, fresh flowers, a bowl of starburst jelly beans, a cute Easter centerpiece, and one of the best gifts EVER: A COMPLETELY STOCKED REFRIGERATOR AND PANTRY! That's right! Mom, Nana, Kristen, and Henry went grocery shopping for me! The picture that I posted really doesn't show it all, it's just a glimpse to give you some idea. Isn't that awesome?

Finally, my wonderful teacher friends treated me to yet another trip to Tipico! I'm so glad Kristen has the week off so she was able to join us!Thanks to all who made it the BEST day for me!
